Usher at Bob Jones University
The all student ushers crew at BJU is responsible for the morning
Sunday service and all cultural events at the university. These events
include concerts and operas in the universities main auditorium and
theater building (seating capacities of 6000 and 2700 respectively),
student recitals in the small auditorium and chapel, and sundry other
events. During my tenure on the crew we ushered for many special visits
including one by Vice President Dan Quayle. This was the only time we
allowed dogs in the buildings (Secret Service dogs). During all four
years I ushered for student recitals, and was responsible for
organizing and opening/closing for these recitals for most of these
years.

| August 1990 - May
1992 |
Custodial Services at Bob
Jones University
During my first two years as a college student I
learned
what "dirty work" means. Despite the grungy work and late hours these
times were not without their pluses. Many friends were met and the
marks of our windex fights may still be seen throughout the university
gymnasium.

| August 1990 -
January 1991 |
Administrative duties at the
University of
Detroit Mercy
During summer and Christmas breaks, I performed
administrative duties for the department of oral pathology and the
student clinic located in the Detroit Receiving Hospital building. I
learned what a gross is and precisely why it is called that. I will
also never forget the x-rays of denture patients (there isn't much to
remember).

| June 1989 - August
1990 |
Administrative work through
Kelly Temporary
Services
Many 16 year olds would never consider working as
a
"Kelly Girl" (as they were still called during those unenlightened
days), but earning more than $2.00/hour more than my school mates
during summer breaks was not something I minded.
|
| November 1985 -
March 1990 |
Newspaper carrier for the
Detroit News and the
Detroit Free Press
Delivering both afternoon and morning papers in a
western section of Detroit I dirtied a lot of clothes (not to mention
my hands) with news ink and learned a great deal about dogs. The little
ones are the most annoying.
