Preface Preface

This is a collection of lessons for use by students before class in an active learning section of multi-variable calculus.
Although some mathematics can be performed on contextless definitions and axioms, much of the work of mathematics is performed by understanding some basic concepts and then playing with these concepts to develop more knowledge. If you are curious for an example of the former, search for Hilbert and Tisch, Stuhl, Krug. The form of active learning intended with these lessons is playing with the concepts in ways that direct our attention to additional properties and to uses.
